Major component of the computer |8 main compartments of a computer

A computer is a sophisticated device made up of several hardware and software parts that cooperate to carry out various tasks. The following are a few of a computer's main parts:

CPU

The central processing unit (CPU) is the computer's mental centre. It is in charge of carrying out computations and carrying out orders. It is made up of a control unit (CU) and an arithmetic logic unit (ALU).

RAM

Random Access Memory (RAM) is a sort of volatile memory that serves as a temporary storage space for data and instructions while a computer is operating. A computer can do tasks more quickly the more RAM it has.

SSD

Solid State Drive (SSD) or Hard Disc Drive (HDD): HDDs and SSDs are long-term data and programme storage systems. While SSDs employ flash memory, HDDs read and write data via spinning discs.

Motherboard

The motherboard, which links all the components to one another, is the computer's main circuit board. Along with other necessary components, it includes the CPU and RAM.

PSU

The PSU, also known as the power supply unit, supplies electricity to the many parts of the computer. It transforms wall outlet AC electricity into DC power that the computer may utilise.

GPU

Rendering of pictures and movies is done by the graphics processing unit (GPU). It is utilised in graphically demanding software like games and video editing.
